Question 1: Tell us a little about Worthwell Developments
Worthwell Developments Ltd is an independent Poynton based company and was set up by Elaine Worthington and Paul Cresswell a year ago. Elaine has lived in the Poyton area for thirty years and knows the local marketplace well and what potential buyers are looking for.
“The company came about as I had been buying and doing up properties to sell over the last ten years and Paul has worked as a builder for twenty years so the idea to set up a development business was quite a natural one. I had previously worked with Paul in the property industry and he had experience in Project Management and building to a high standard”
Worthwell’s latest developments in Poynton are the 3rd project the company has taken on in the area in the last year. Elaine is well known in the local community and has plenty of good contacts, so she is keen to continue to centre the business in the marketplace which she knows the best.
Question 2: Why is Poynton such as great place to live?
“Poynton has a real village feel about it and benefits from great schools – it’s a very family orientated area. It’s also a very vibrant marketplace and properties here are a good investment as they don’t tend to lose money. The location is ideal as it’s near to all major road networks and with the investment in the new A34 Airport bypass, this can only improve.”
Question 3: Why consider a new build?
“The first thing about new builds is that they come with a ten year guarantee so this helps protect buyers. Many people also find it appealing to have a say on the finish of the house. Internal input into appliances and décor means they can tailor the final look and feel to suits their tastes. Lastly, new builds are ‘turn the key’ properties, there is no daunting task of having to undertake any initial improvements so you can just move straight in.”
Question 4a: What’s unique about the Old Police Station Development in your opinion?:
“The Old Police Station is the prestige option of our two developments. With only two detached three bed properties on site they offer plenty of space. They’re also in a great location on London Road, only minutes away from the town centre and Poynton Park.’’
Question 4b: What’s unique about the Lyme View Place Development in your opinion?:
“Lyme View offers a unique proposition in that there are three types of property on the site; bungalows, flats and semi-detached homes. There are eight units on this site and there was potential for more but we were keen to ensure we offered buyers a spacious and open feel. The development, which will be gated, will offer buyers a ready-made mini community and I think that’s pretty special. Properties here are also still within walking distance to the village and we have sold two of the properties with Bridgfords on this development already.”
Question 5: What sort of buyer would the developments appeal to the most?
“All of the properties are very much family homes and are suited to anyone from second home buyers right up to those looking to retire but need a little extra room for the family to stay once in a while.”
